About Me!

My career began at Suwannee Elementary East (now, Suwannee Primary School) in Live Oak, Florida in August 2000. Early on, I taught in the three-dimensional model, Project CHILD. Currently, I've been a  First Grade teacher for more than 5 years and I LOVE it! I enjoy teaching First Graders because they are excited about learning. My expectations for my students are high, as we grow and accomplish many things together.

I attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary Education. Presently, I am working toward a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership also, from Florida A&M. I participated in the The Florida Reading Initative (NEFEC) and I have been trained in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Additionally, I have supervised student teachers and interns, taught in various afterschool programs. I was also an Educational Consultant for the Institute for School Innovation in Tallahassee, Florida. And, I am currently a part-time, online tutor for Educate Online in Baltimore, Maryland.

I enjoy spending time with my family and working in my church. My husband, Edward and I, are the parents of Phillip, 16 and   Daycia, 13 (...and Casper, our dog). I enjoy ready, vacationing and relaxing.
